Completely opposite from my last outfit post: I’m all dressed in white today. 🙂
I really like white dresses, as they have an appeal I can’t quite describe. There’s a very innocent, charming look about them. I have a bright pink bow belt that I thought added a cute pop of color, and I ended up feeling like a princess, haha.
To finish it off, I added a rhinestone barrette in my hair just to polish it up. I sort of felt like I was going to a ball or something, when really I was just going to Starbucks, lol. I tend to always be the most overdressed person in the room anyway. :p
I had time to spare this morning before having to begin my day, so what else was there to do but take random pictures of myself in semi-eerie lighting?
Seriously though, I really love photography. I love how pictures can set a mood. And since I wore all pastels today, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take some pics!
I particularly like how the last one turned out. Kind of an eerie, somewhat-ethereal look going on there and my smudged camera lens is to be fully applauded for such a look. I can never seem to get my phone camera lens clean, and anytime light is in the picture, it glows. Thanks, phone!
I’m looking forward to more outdoor pictures…it’s just too cold to stand outside and attempt to take pictures. Can’t wait for spring!
Today while sitting at Starbucks, I was able to witness a long march of people passing by, waving pride flags, American flags, and donning the color pink for the Women’s March that took place in many cities across the U.S. I’m not one to discuss politics, but what I want to share is this: today, I witnessed an overwhelming sense of unity. I will always remember the smiles on these people’s faces, the smile I gave in return as I stood to watch them pass by, and the feeling of everyone being together peacefully. The positive vibes were so strong. It touched my heart.
Another reason why today was awesome was because I received my STRAWBERRY HAIRCLIP and my new phone case in the mail! Also, a new umbrella that I’ll take pictures of later in the daytime. Here you can see the strawberry hair clip I’m wearing; I love wearing cute stuff in my hair because my hair is huge and feels like a canvas to decorate!
Aaaaaand, my new phone case. Creepy, no? It’s Karen Cooper from the 1968 film, Night of the Living Dead. I clearly really enjoy cutesy stuff, but I also have a soft spot for creepy stuff just as well.
Hope everyone is having a rockin’ Saturday! 🙂
So it’s been super rainy and wet here in Central California, but not too terribly cold, which is nice for a change! Yesterday, I decided to step out into something a little out-of-the-ordinary for me, which is an off-the-shoulder top.
I actually really love them. I was a bit hesitant to try the look at first, not sure if it would look good on me, but I figured heck – you only live once, right? Also, it has a very flirty, retro vibe – a Brigitte Bardot vibe, even.
I really like this style and plan to shop for more like it, especially for spring/summer outfits. Off-the-shoulder has a very cute look and I think it pairs well with my style of skirts/ballet flats and such.
Enjoy your Wednesday! 🙂
Well, every day is a retro day for me style-wise, but today I went super extra retro with a very nostalgic look that clearly nods to a bygone era – the sixties.

There’s just something about black-and-white stripes and blue eyeshadow that go together in such an effortlessly retro look. Often I peruse Pinterest in hopes of finding fashion inspiration, or makeup inspiration, and I definitely found it this past week!
I love colorful little bobby pins to put on the side of my hair. To me, it adds an instant 60’s/70’s look that I just can’t get enough of. I’ve always been drawn to the heavy eye makeup and nude lipstick look, and big, voluptuous hairstyles. I think it all began when my mom first let me watch the Beach Party films with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello as a child. There was something about the smiling, beach-clad girls with their thick black eyeliner and big hair that forever inspired me to model my everyday look after them.
So that’s today’s look! I paired the shirt with a bright red skirt to add a bold splash of color, and for some reason I forgot to take a picture of the full ensemble. Oops! Oh well, you get the idea.
Have a lovely Thursday!
I decided to stop by my local art store and pick up a tablet of paper specifically designed for Prismacolor pencils. I was an art student some years ago and during college I always found Prismacolor to be my favorite medium. I tended to produce the best works when I used it, and I realized I haven’t drawn anything with them in a long time.
I’m better at drawing still life, so I chose some macarons to draw and I really like how they turned out. I then pushed it a bit further and included…
…a cupcake. I guess I was in a pastry mood? I love working with colors, so the brighter, the better! Ultimately, I’m glad I’ve gone back to my drawing hobby and I plan on doing more artwork here in the near future, just so I don’t get rusty. 🙂 There really is something about drawing that relaxes the mind, and it’s such a solitary activity, which is another reason why I love it.
