I got a great view of this sunset last night! I love taking pictures at Woodward Park. Cloudy but unfortunately very windy, not to mention I should have took heed from the high pollen alert, because my left eye was stinging incessantly while attempting to take pictures. Annoying!!!
Hurry up and take the picture please, it’s windy and my eye is burning…
Still a good time nonetheless, even with the windy, pollen-filled air! Also, that yellow drink in my hand is a smoothie from Lassen’s. If you have a Lassen’s in your town, I highly recommend their smoothies! The one I’m drinking is the Mango Colada. ❤
In stranger news, I’ve been giving this harmonica of mine a go. Much to the annoyance of my sister when I give her a call, sometimes I randomly start playing it, mid-conversation. While I try to sound like Neil Young playing the harmonica, it instead sounds like a bunch of cats fighting.
Arguably even stranger is the weather this morning! It’s raining…out of nowhere. This is my ensemble today, attempting to go from summer clothing to chilly-weather clothing in an instant. I dug out an old sweater to keep warm today! 🙂
I went with some interesting accessories today that I think pair miraculously well together! A statement necklace paired with a polka dot headband makes me feel oh-so girly.
I have to give a shout-out to this new lipstick I’ve been wearing lately! Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Smoked Peach. I think I finally found my ideal lipstick shade! Finding the right lipstick color that compliments my skin tone has been tricky for me…I prefer nude lipstick colors, but they tend to wash me out. Coral brightens my face up immediately and has that retro, early-1960’s vibe going on!
I hope everyone is enjoying this last day of May! The month seems to have flown by. Looking forward to June and the new round of opportunities that lie ahead! 🙂 Anyone doing anything fun for the upcoming start-of-summer month? Enjoy the day!
I’ve always loved butterflies, and as you can see from my outfit, I really incorporated my love for butterflies into my ensemble…
I’m technically wearing bugs. I randomly went to Barnes & Noble later that night, read through some artsy magazines and got ideas for jewelry-making…it was a fun and relaxing way to spend the evening! I’m so wild, aren’t I? I’ve been in a more-than-usual creative mood, so I needed some fresh, out-of-the-box ideas…
…which led to THIS!!! I kept my seashell-fascination going and made a necklace this time. It was really fun staying up late to make this thing; there’s something I love about late-night, spur-of-the-moment craft projects. I wasn’t sure where it was going at first, but I kept at it and ultimately loved the outcome! ❤ I’ll be putting this one up in my Etsy shop on Monday.
Back to my outfit now: simple two-toned green ensemble. I really love green in general, and I feel it’s a color that flatters my complexion. 🙂
So far, it’s been a relaxing weekend and I’ve been going for evening walks and listening to music. Socializing too, of course…all that jazz. Enjoy your weekend!!! ❤
It must be the hint of summer on the horizon that has made me drawn to seashells and mermaids. ❤
I made this really fun seashell statement ring, on an actual seashell coated with glitter! I went with a mermaid theme, of course. I reeeeally love how it turned out.
My outfit today feels sooo beachy, not just because of the seashell statement ring but also the pink and white striped shirt I bought from the thrift store recently! It’s become one of my favorite shirts and I bought it for only $4! The skirt I bought on Amazon.
I hope everyone is having a lovely week! It’s been a great week for me and I’ve been keeping busy, as always. Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses, and most importantly, smile. ❤
This morning I had the cutest breakfast ever: sweet potato bread with berries! ❤ I’m not a breakfast person, but I had a busy morning ahead of me so I needed something.
New nails. 🙂 I got them done last night. It’s so hard for me to decide what kind of nails I want, but I tend to go with pastel colors. Pale, shimmery pink this time!
As you can see from the nail pictures, I was reading a book…these are the current books on my reading list. I’m finishing up Band of Brothers (after a second time of reading it!) and next up is No True Glory: A Frontline Account of the Battle for Fallujah. Clearly, you can see that military books are my favorite. 🙂
Today I’m wearing my favorite romper I own…
I’m in a silly mood today so I was taking random photos at my sister’s house. I really love the strawberry hair clip; it’s fun to wear fruit in your hair! 😛
Hope everyone is having a fantastic Tuesday! Mine is going really well, had to take care of business this morning but the rest of the day will be dedicated to being creative and enjoying the sunshine. 🙂 Can’t go wrong with that!
No palace to see here, but I thought the title sounded nice. 😛
It’s not officially summer here in the States, but it might as well be here in the good ol’ California valley, where it’s been in the 90’s the past week. I like it! (For now anyway, until it hits the triple digits and that’s never very pleasant).
Purple seems to be the color of the day, so here’s some outfit shots! I love the whole two-toned colors…
And to go along with the purple hysteria, my Starbucks octopus sugar cookie matched my wallet, and my outfit. I admittedly get a little too excited when things match my outfit of the day. 🙂
Hope everyone is having a swell Sunday! ❤
Yeah. I like the title of this post!
It’s a mash-up of my Outfit of the Day and the place I am currently typing this blog post at.
So, since I’m still on a flower crown kick, I had to document my oh-so girly outfit that I’m really loving today. 🙂 This headband I’m wearing, I bought at Claire’s. I love the little fabric flowers on it – makes me feel like a fairy of some sort, like I should be floating around aimlessly in a garden or something, haha.
I just loooove pink and white together. Such a pretty color combination!
This morning I met my sister at Yellow Mug, a really cute locally-owned coffee house where I live. I love the atmosphere and the friendly staff, and their drinks are aaaaaaamazing.
Lemon and blueberry macarons. ❤
Isn’t this adorable?! I love their wall decor. ❤ Happy Monday!
Well hello there, peeps…
On this relaxing Sunday, I attempted to make my mom a nice little breakfast for Mother’s Day. It turned out FAIRLY well, if I must say so myself…I like what I did with the strawberries, turning them into hearts and all!
Afterwards, I decided it was a good day to take some outfit photos since I was pretty pleased with my ensemb’ du jour…
I now declare this land…conquered.
Sundays are for flower crowns…as well as the other days that end in “y”.
Enjoy your day! ❤
Going to Goodwill for some see-what-I-can-find shopping has proven to be worthwhile yet again!
This little dress is a super pretty pink punch color and is (gasp) sleeveless. That’s only unusual for me because I never wear sleeveless tops/dresses, but hey, I’m stepping outside of my comfort zone for a change. It only cost me $4!
Hope everyone is having a lovely Monday! Smile, be happy, stay positive and enjoy the little things. ❤
Last night, I was going through my Pinterest board and looking through all of the pictures of ladies who inspire me in the fashion and makeup sense. Just for fun, I decided to do a photo-only post filled with all of my favorite leading ladies, from the past to present! They range from singers with a great sense of style to actresses with eye-catching fashion they wore for films.
Feel free to comment if you have any of your own leading ladies who inspire you, whether it be fashion-wise or makeup, etc!
I’m not sure what’s gotten into me lately but I’ve found myself watching The Notebook recently and taking notice of the beautifully romantic 1940’s style ensembles worn in the movie. As much as I wish I had more 40’s-esque attire (my clothes look more 1960’s/1970’s), I got creative with what I had and went for a semi-1940’s outfit today!
I love this purse so much…it really makes any outfit I wear look even more vintage! (I wrote a post about it before, but just as a reminder, it’s a vintage purse from the 1960’s).
Yeah, it still looks very 1960’s.
Lol. I think even if I wore a dress straight out of the 1940’s, it would still look 60’s solely because of my hairstyle and makeup. Ohhhhhh well!
I really love my outfit today and had to take pictures! Ciao!
