Happy Halloween!

Hello there! I bring to you today, a Halloween post. Take me seriously – I carry a wand today. 🙂

Now, as you can see, I really didn’t wear a costume. This happens every time!!! Each year I think, I will really truly dress up this year! And, it never happens. I never can decide what to be.

Since I love dressing up in general, I don’t have to look far beyond my own closet to find something. 😉

This I did have to buy. Isn’t it pretty? I kept staring at it all night. Someone once told me I have very catlike qualities, and I think this is exactly what the person was talking about. I kept flicking my nail at the dangly bead, totally mesmerized, and also by the glitter.

I know it’s hard to see, but I applied glitter to my brow bones and cheeks, just to look more festive. Fortunately, I had some glitter on hand.

Kind of an autumn fairy look going on? Yeah, let’s go with that. 😉

Pictures from the party!

This party was held at my sister’s friend’s house. She didn’t go, but I did! He really went all out and decorated his entire home with elaborate lights, a DJ, decorations, food, and a bar with bartenders (I don’t drink, but I had a Pepsi or two. Wild, I know! I need to calm down!)

My friend dressed in an awesome Day of the Dead costume!

My friend and host of the party…was not expecting to see the President here. 😛

This came out blurry, but it makes it all the more creepy, no?

It was a really fun night, and it was a smaller-sized party so I enjoyed that. I’m not much of a party person, but for holidays it’s fun to go and celebrate. This really is my favorite time of year because I love anything holiday-themed.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween weekend!

See you next time! ❤

Sweater (dress) Weather

Hello everyone!!! How are you? Hope you’re doing well. 🙂

This ensemble has to be my new favorite outfit, and I’m happy to show some snapshots of it. I wore this on Monday when it was cooler, and at mid-week, like a true autumn in California, the temperature jumped back into the 80’s for the time being. 😛

This sweater is a hand-me-down from my mom! It fits perfectly and is very cozy and warm. It felt like I was wrapped in a blanket all day.

The ice pink skirt peeking out from the sweater adds such a feminine touch!!! I loved wearing this outfit. Khaki and light pink are two colors that go very well together, I learned. I think because they’re both soft, subtle colors. ❤

Overall, a very girly outfit. 😉 Definitely my new favorite!

Have a fantastic week, everyone! See you next time! ❤

Bows, Boots, & Décor

What do you think of my new cup? Isn’t it adorable?

Hello, hello! I hope the weekend finds you all doing well. I have a mix of a blog post for today, so it’ll keep it interesting!

I thought it would be fun to do something different for starters, by doing a little walkthrough of how my house is decorated. I have a lot of cute details in my place, so I thought it’d be fun to show a bit of that. Here we go!

My favorite thing about the bathroom layout is the floral touch I made to my cabinet. I bought the faux-plant vine thing at Michael’s a year or so ago, and it made such a drastic difference to the overall look. The little canvas on the wall is one of my favorite quotes, so it’s a nice reminder to see when I’m getting ready for the day.

Remember I Dream of Jeannie? When I watched the show, I totally loved the little bottle she lived in…

Color theme-wise, that’s what I was going for, and I think I’ve done really well getting the right pillows and such for my bed. ❤

Sometimes, all it takes is an interesting arrangement to give the room some color! I made this little floral-looking centerpiece – I bought the items at Joann’s and put them in a vase. They have such a variety of imitation plants that the possibilities are endless!

I hope you enjoyed my little mini-tour. 🙂

Moving on to the outfit post: I decided to bring out some bow headbands, taking a little break from my usual flower ones. Aren’t these little rings super cute?

Doesn’t matter how old I get; I’ll always be all about pink stuff and bows. I think it’s embedded in my DNA or something, so why fight it?

This blouse from H&M I bought a week or two ago is one of my favorite tops now. It screams, I can be fun AND professional! Win-win!

But then everything flies off the rails when you bring in the brown tights and the boots with the bow. It’s like a professional kawaii cowgirl…? Who knows. I don’t take myself too seriously when it comes to fashion; I aim to be fun, and pretty much a woman who never stopped playing dress up, essentially.

And there you have it, folks! I hope you enjoyed this whimsical post. Have a fantastic weekend and enjoy yourselves!

See you next time!

Blue Jeans

Hello, hello! ❤

Since I’m not typically one to wear denim very often, I wanted to show a few shots of my outfit from Sunday. It was a really nice day and I was able to debut my bright blue flower headband, which I really love. I think it’s the brightest blue I’ve ever seen.

The denim and white skirt kinda has that country look going on. I like it!

had to post this beautiful latte art!! On Saturday night, I went to a cute coffee shop that does the really pretty latte art in their hot drinks. I’m a sucker for art in general, but latte art is just so cute in my opinion. It’s the simple pleasures in life!

I received this customized Evil Eye bracelet from Etsy that I bought, and I love it sooo much! I was able to choose the thread and bead color, and I had to have the size adjusted for me since I have super tiny wrists. It fits perfectly and I can wear it every day with anything since I chose a neutral tone! It looks so elegant and pretty. ❤

On a final note, I’ve been in the Halloween mood and I was inspired to create a new illustration. I came up with a corpse bride; isn’t she beautiful, in her own creepy way? I really got into the shading details of the dress…I think that was one of my favorite parts about drawing it. I love how melancholy and somewhat reluctant she looks.

I hope everyone is enjoying their week! It’s supposed to (hopefully?) rain by the end of this week, and I can’t wait to finally bring out my pink umbrella. It’s been months and months since it’s rained here, so I get a bit overjoyed when there’s rain in the forecast, haha.

‘Til next time! 🙂 ❤

Roses are Aqua, Violets are…Violet

Not very poetic, but hey!

I’m super jazzed up because my rose cabochons arrived in the mail yesterday. I was all too excited to make some new headbands to add to my collection!

I’m in love with the bright colors. They’re so vivid, and they sparkle when the light hits it. These take hardly any time to do, as all it takes is some glue and time to dry. Very minimal effort with an amazing outcome. 🙂

Today I wore the violet one. I’ll show the blue one in another outfit post soon, I’m sure! I love pink and gold, so I think it all tied together nicely. My sister made me the ring awhile back and this is the first time I’ve worn it.

Simple outfit with cute colors to make it pop!

Thought of the Day: What inspires you to blog?

I know I’m switching gears here, but I had an interesting conversation last night in which I brought up why I love blogging. I wanted to share my own thoughts on it, and if anyone wants to share theirs, I’d love to hear!

For me, it’s the ability to reach out beyond the limits of where I live and share my little world with others. I live in a moderately big city, but somehow it still feels small. I also sincerely enjoy reading what others blog about and seeing their interests and their part of the world (different cultures and countries fascinate me).

Also, I love fashion expression, and although it speaks for itself visually, I really love going into further detail through writing about it. That, and when I have inspiration to share, I hope to inspire others. ❤

What inspires you? ‘Til next time! 🙂

Orange Mocha!

Alright alright alright… *Matthew McConaughey voice*.

Hello everyone! I bring you a fresh outfit today, in which I’m wearing a color I typically never wear, and that is orange!

The outfit reminds me of an orange mocha frappucino…

All Zoolander jokes aside, it really does remind me of the Starbucks drink that is no more. I remember years upon years ago, they had the orange mocha frappucino as a summer drink. It was delicious! I wish they’d bring it back.

Fortunately, I had an orange scarf that really does compliment the darker orange skirt. Orange is just one of those colors I seldom wear, but I have to say, I think I fell in love with the color today. ❤

Orange, light brown and gold really have a somewhat exotic flair when combined together. I think the accessories tie it all together, and a pop of pearls adds an elegant touch.

I think this is one of my favorite outfits I’ve worn lately…I think this is why I’m a huge fan of solid colors in my outfits, because you can mix and match colors to create interesting looks just by pairing new colors together!

Has anyone else thought they weren’t a fan of a certain color, then they tried it out and ended up loving it? 🙂

Enjoy the start of your weekend! ‘Til next time!

Plaid Love

Happy Monday, everyone!

It’s an extra happy Monday for me because I have the day off to enjoy. So, let’s begin with today’s outfit!!!

I am a huge fan of plaid, and I pulled out this old scarf I’ve had forever…pink and navy blue is such a gorgeous color combination to me, so I’m really loving this look. There’s a real vintage feel with a long, trailing scarf over one’s shoulder.

It’s another beautiful day with good weather, so what better what to spend today than outdoors? As per usual, I have my iced mocha…pretty soon I will have to switch to the hot mocha for the winter months. I’m a simple gal in that sense: iced mocha, hot mocha. Hot weather, cold weather. 🙂 I stick to what I like.

Enjoy the new week ahead! See you next time!

Be Sure to Wear Some Leaves in Your Hair

Happy weekend, everyone!

Today, I’m very very happy to show you my new autumn leaf headband. All it took was a blank headband, a package of leaves from Joann fabric, and glue! I also used some orange and yellow flower cabochons I had left over from making some rings.

All I had to do was lay down the headband and apply glue to the back of the leaves, and press them onto the headband fabric. Very simple to do, and I used gorilla super glue (hey, that rhymed).

I’m always wearing flower headbands, but since it’s fall and all, I really wanted an autumn-themed statement piece. Just wait until Christmas – I now know I’ll be making a holly-themed headband to keep up with the holiday flow. 😉

A simple red dress kept the rest of the outfit minimal. I wanted the focus to be on the headband, of course! We’re having some lingering warm days – a pleasant upper 80’s today – so short sleeves work just fine.

This statement headband has gotten a lot of compliments, a few confused stares here and there, and overall, I just love it and it’s become my favorite one I’ve made – plus it was totally inexpensive to make!!! I feel like a little autumn fairy out and about. 🙂

I had an unexpected surprise to find out that the place I work observes Columbus Day, so I have a 3 day weekend! An extra day to relax and enjoy some free time…yaaay!

See you all next time! 🙂

Lilac Time

Hello to everyone! I hope you’re having an excellent week. 🙂

Before I do another outfit post, I feel the need to start off by saying something I think is important to share.

Hearing about the horrible incident in Las Vegas, was really eye-opening and heartbreaking. I was even more shocked to find out one of my friends was at the concert in the front row, but thankfully, they are okay and were not injured. Still, too many others did not make it out okay, and that breaks my heart.

I realized, you never know what can happen, at any given time.

Just to share some inspiration: if you have anything you have been wanting to tell someone in your life, or just to tell someone that you appreciate them –  go ahead and do it. Even if you feel nervous to or that you’ll seem too emotional. Be grateful for the time you’re experiencing on earth. Tomorrow is never guaranteed, and maybe what you’ll say will warm someone’s heart or change their outlook for the better. Even just a small smile at a passing stranger. It’s spreading happiness in small ways, which is what the world needs more of. ❤

Having shared that, I’ll move onward…

I pulled out a bunch of scarves I have from last fall, and have been wearing them with pure joy! This one is not intended for warmth of course, but it’s a vintage item I bought at an antique store some time ago.

I really love purple, especially in shades such as lilac, and this outfit exudes a feminine vibe that I’m really loving!

I’ve been getting into the Halloween spirit, listening to Halloween-ish music on Spotify at work, and I’ve already watched Hocus Pocus. I try to make Halloween a month long celebration – same goes for Christmas. I’m a big holiday person, and I’ll find any way to go all out.

Speaking of, I made a headband of autumn leaves!!! (Fake ones, of course). I’ve always wanted one, and I finally made it. I wore it Monday and got a lot of compliments (I’ll wear it again this weekend and take photos). I’m excited for you guys to see it!

See you next time! Smile, laugh…enjoy this life. ❤

Pumpkin Time

Greetings, friends from near and afar! ❤

It’s been a really nice weekend, and I wanted to get a good outfit post in. Going for that fall look! The weather is all-too fitting not to have a fall-inspired look.

Dark green, and brown hues…yes!!! And why not a splash of yellow?

The shoes add a quirky touch to the outfit, in my opinion. Sort of that artsy-chic look that I love dearly.

At the Pumpkin Patch!

Every October, I go to this pumpkin patch where my sister sells her jewelry. Today was the first day, so I had to take lots of pics to celebrate the occasion and start the month off right. 🙂

I sat at my sister’s booth and decorated a pumpkin I bought…although, a different take! No carving involved – I used old nylons I don’t wear and topped it off with a bow!

Photos from my evening walk Saturday night!

As I walked, surrounded by this beautiful scenery, I had Clair de lune by Debussy playing on my iPod. It took it to a whole other level! ❤ Absolutely peaceful.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend!

Until next time!
