I Wear My Hearts in My Hair

Hi hiiii… ๐Ÿ’š

Happy start-of-the-weekend! I hope you all enjoyed your week. I blinked, and it was gone…

I feel like I’ve been lagging on outfits…like I’ve been struggling to pair things together in a fresh way! I found some old accessories I’d forgotten about in a drawer recently and have been wearing them, though. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I think I’ll go thrift shopping soon!

I found these little heart hair clips (one purple, one pink), that I bought at Claire’s a long time ago. I forgot how cute they are!! ๐Ÿ’œ

On Good Morning America Friday morning, I spotted Blink-182 playing on the summer concert series. It took me two seconds to sprint over to my CD shelf and retrieve this gem I’d forgotten about: Enema of the State.

Oh my…the memories!!!! I put it on in my car on my way to Starbucks and was instantly transported back to 1999, 7th grade. โค๏ธ Blink-182 became hugely popular that year, so the album is literally a time capsule.

It ranks up there as one of my favorite albums! Makes me think of middle school and how innocent it all was, because when I started high school (2001), that entered the 9/11 era. There was a lot of coverage about the war going on in Iraq/Afghanistan throughout my high school years, which has always stuck with me.

On a last note, I FINALLY tried fish ice cream!!! โค๏ธ It’s not a real fish, but a waffle crust that looks like a fish, with ice cream inside. I purchased it to-go at a Japanese restaurant…it was really good, and cute!

See ya next time!!

  1. Love your blog! Your outfits are always awesome! One of my favorite things to do when I get a day off is go to the thrift shop I newly discovered by my job in Pennsylvania. I know what you mean about the blink 182 album… many songs are like a time capsule for me as well. I was in high school when it came out though…and 9/11/01 was my first day of college I remember parking my 1993 Lincoln in the parking lot only to find out my first day of College was cancelled due to a plane that hit the twin towers! At first I thought it was some small tiny plane and it was a simple accident from JFK or Newark Airport. . . Anyway…. The fish chocolate is CUTE & looks delicious ! But not as cute as your heart clips!

    1. Thank you thank you!! That’s crazy that your college classes were canceled; I imagine they would be though, since you’re close to NYC. It’s fascinating how everyone has a very specific memory of what they were doing when the news of 9/11 came to be.

  2. Way to revive your super cute heart barrettes! Could Claire’s ever steer us wrong? I really like your teardrop rhinestone ring, too. And yep, Enema of the State is a great album. I was a senior in high school when it came out. I heard about Blink 182 being on Good Morning America and that line in What’s My Age Again? getting bleeped out. I was a sophomore in college on 9/11. I was getting ready for my first class, trying to decide what to wear (I’d settled on a hot pink floral cami and matching long skirt that I now consider hideous) . . . and then I saw it on TV. Our classes weren’t canceled, but there was a big TV set up in the student center so that everyone could watch the news. Anyway, the fish ice cream is really funny. Glad it was yummy — and didn’t taste like fish!

    1. Thanks! Claire’s is the best!!! Yes, that part of the song got bleeped out, hahaaa! (Your comment about your outfit hindsight made me laugh!) It was the same way for me too on 9/11, as I was also getting ready for class when I saw it on TV, and the teachers kept the TV on throughout the day!
