Keep it Copacetic

Heeeeeey! 😀

How’ve you all been? I’ve been soaking up these last remaining days of summer, enjoying the heat while it’s still here, and otherwise just taking it easy like usual when I’m not doing my freelance work (which is going GREAT!).

I just finished a new line of Halloween jewelry for my Etsy shop! Aren’t they cuuuuute?????

It’s definitely my favorite necklace I’ve ever made, that’s for sure! I still have two new rings to make soon that have a pumpkin theme. 🎃

Outfit: the skirt is a vintage item given to me by my mom! ❤️ Coral top is from Forever 21.

So the other night, I felt like watching some music videos on YouTube from the 90’s, to get that warm fuzzy feeling of nostalgia. Collective Soul? Third Eye Blind?? Gin Blossoms??? Twenty music videos later, I had taken quite the journey back to my childhood! And it led me to this 1996 gem by Local H, “Bound for the Floor”, which I’d totally forgotten about!

🎶 And you just don’t get it,
Keep it copacetic,
And you learn to accept it…
🎶

Mostly referred to as “the copacetic song” back in the day, I remember hearing this song all the time on the radio as a kid. The cover of the album always creeped me out, though!! I remember when my sister and I would go to the WHEREHOUSE (oh my gosh, how I wish that was still around!) and the album cover always stood out to me.

I’m glad I re-discovered that song; it was like reuniting with an old friend. I think it’s because it has that post-grunge, mid-90’s sound that sweeps me away to my childhood days…a comfort food, like a grilled cheese sandwich dipped in ketchup! ❤️

Don’t you sometimes like to go for a swim in the nostalgia sea? I certainly do! Funny how an album cover and a tune can easily sweep us away. 😄

Well, let’s return to 2019 as I end this post, shall we? The pumpkin spice items debuted today at Starbucks, and you darn well KNOW I had some. Behold!!!! The pumpkin spice frappuccino and scone!

BYE!

Cracklin’ Rosie Get on Board

Heeey!! ❤️

What a great Sunday it was. I did something different in the evening, and went for an outskirts-of-town drive with my friend, snapping some photos along the way.

I loved it…it was one of those days where I really stopped and smelled the roses! Just thinking about all the small moments in my everyday life and smiling. 😄

I’m a city gal, but I do love seeing some wide open spaces sometimes! Enjoy! I hope you had a lovely weekend.

“Hitchin’ on a twilight train…ain’t nothing here that I care to take along…

maybe a song…to sing when I want.”

By the way, I was quoting Neil Diamond in this post. I don’t know why, but the song just seemed fitting???

See ya!!

Pattern Crazy

Hi! 💙

I’m definitely celebrating patterns in this post! This first outfit makes me think of a race track, watching cars zoom by and checkered flags waving in the wind.

This is a very different pattern for me! I don’t own anything checkered…until now. (From Forever 21).

Is it just me, or does it feel like summer is zooming by? It’s bittersweet, because I love summer and the heat…but I also love fall! So I always feel torn how to feel…lol.

Here’s another outfit…

Scarf life. For life.

I actually really like this last outfit in particular! The mix of polka dots with the unusual black and white scarf is cool, in my opinion. The big brooch in the center really topped the whole thing off!

And of course, red butterfly clips. ❤️ You know what, this outfit is beautifully confusing, in a way. That’s why I love it!!!

I’m now the proud owner of the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood soundtrack! Now I can cruise around in my Challenger and pretend it’s 1969. What better way to finish off the remaining days of summer?

Bye for now! ❤️

Sunday at the Coast

Hey heeeeeeeey!

My friend and I went to Monterey, CA for the day – it was a blast! This post will be all photos, so enjoy!

From clam chowder to candy, it was a gorgeous day at the coast with beautiful weather. My favorite part was walking to San Carlos Cathedral (built in 1794!), which is the most peaceful place I’ve ever been in, so I made it a point to visit while I was in Monterey. I had the chance to admire the hauntingly beautiful statues and art in total silence, and it was exactly the peace I needed! ❤️

See you next time!! ❤️

Once Upon a Time At the Cinema

Hi!! ❤️

Tuesday morning, I was excited to take myself to go see the first showing of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is a film I’ve been looking forward to seeing, a LOT!

Taken from IMDb.com:A faded television actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles.

I won’t dive into too much detail since the film is new and some readers may wish to see it! What drew me in immediately when I watched the trailer and learned of this movie, is that the plot intertwines with the Manson murders.

I found the film to be beautifully nostalgic, and it was a mix of comedy and a thriller. There were several times I laughed out loud, and other times I felt intensely nervous with a chill down my spine.

I loved the 1960’s music they incorporated into the film, and how it went fittingly with the scenes. I also loved both Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio’s characters, as they made a great team and their very different personalities created such rich chemistry (it’s hard to choose a favorite, as I adored both characters in different ways).

I was also utterly charmed by Margot Robbie’s depiction of Sharon Tate. She captured her sweet, innocent, playful essence in a dreamlike way.

I’ve never felt SO SATISFIED by a film’s ending before!!!!!! I literally wanted to stand up and cheer. I left the theater with a big fat smile on my face. ❤️

Top and skirt: Forever 21

I’m liking my pattern mixture of stripes and florals – add some sparkly red snap hair clips – and you have a super retro look. ❤️

I’m really happy I saw Once Upon a Time in Hollywood; it was the highlight of my entire week. 😊

See ya next time!
