Look What the Cat Dragged In: Me, and Some Soviet Stuff

I don’t own a cat, but I do own this adorable little kitty figurine, complete with a food dish. And it’s PINK!!!! I’ve had it since I was a kid.

I’ll show you my outfit of the day first 💜💜💜:

Bow: Childhood // Clips: Target // Turtleneck: Secondhand // Choker: Etsy
Overalls: SHEIN // Shoes: Dolls Kill

I look like an overgrown child, yaaaay!!! Exactly what I aim for. 👍🏼

Now, for my newest additions to my USSR collection! I find things online every now and then that I’d like to own for my collection, and these are the things I’ve added within the past 6 months/1 year or so: an atlas and three postcards from long ago (I asked my pen pal in Belarus for a translation, and he translated them for me; in short, they are warm greetings written to friends or relatives).

I kept it fun and original and let the cat photo bomb every single photo I took. 🐱💕

The atlas book smells just like an old book (it’s from 1979). Sounds funny, but I enjoy sniffing it. I have always loved atlas’, and I used to keep an atlas in my binder – always – in elementary school. Just to gaze at it and dream of faraway places. And I’m enamored by these postcards!! It’s a time capsule. Anyhow, I ordered these from a seller on Etsy who lives in Ukraine. ❤️

See ya next time!! 🐱💕

  2. I love this post!!! The title, your childhood cat toy photo bombing every pic, and the heart-shaped buckles on your shoes are all so cute. And your new Soviet postcards are beautiful. I especially love how their messages are “warm greetings written to friends or relatives.” The cosmonaut one is my favorite. What wonderful finds for your collection !!! 🙂

  3. Interesting Soviet stuff. The only Soviet things I have are old rifles. I had Soviet pistols, also, but a Chinese friend really really really wanted them for his collection, so I reluctantly gave them to him. I also had a couple of Soviet cameras and lenses years ago. The lenses were super sharp. I used them professionally when I worked for photo studio in the 80s and 90s. I’m trying to remember what I did with those cameras and lenses.

      1. BTW If you are wondering how I found you, I was commenting on Inchcock’s blog, you your blog was one of the suggested blogs below the comments box. Your hair and makeup were so striking I had to check out your blog. I discovered you are a fascinating young woman with a great sense of fashion and an interest in Soviet stuff. And you have two books published, as well. I’m impressed.

      2. Aww. Thanks. I’m happy you like my music. If you can sing, I’m always looking for someone to collaborate with. I can’t sing for crap, but I have to in order to record the songs I write.
