The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Yellow Shoes

Shoes: Dolls Kill

I remember when I used to use the typing program Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing back in 1999 as a middle schooler, and to me, it was LOADS of fun, besides being educational to boot. It made me a lightning fast typer, and I distinctly recall having to type the sentence: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog, a million times over. And what a perfect title for today’s blog post – but with shoes, rather than said lazy dog!

Bow: Made by me // Choker: ROMWE // Fox clips: Etsy

These adorable felt fox clips were an Etsy purchase I made last year, and I knew wearing something brown would go perfectly with them. Brown, with yellow shoes, to be exact! I recently made the gingham brown bow out of extra fabric scraps I had in my sewing drawer.

I’ve also been upcycling some scarves I don’t wear and have turned them into bows! You’ll see it in the second outfit…

Top & Shorts: SHEIN
Bow: used to be a scarf // Clips: Amazon // Choker: Etsy
Top: Goodwill // Shortalls: SHEIN

Also, shoutout to The Tote Trove for mentioning the word ‘shortalls’ in a comment, as it took me this long to realize that’s a term for the kind of overalls I wear!! It’ll make life easier when I search for that specific word in the SHEIN search engine in the future. πŸ˜†

Brown + yellow = the theme of this post. And I’m digging it, because it’s super ’70s. And I’m sure actual foxes would dig it too, not just because they literally dig stuff with their little paws, but because I gave them a shoutout with my hair clips!!! πŸ’—

On a last note, I went on a jewelry-making-spree this past weekend and made loads of new stuff for my Etsy shop!! It’s been awhile. These are just a few snapshots of what I made! Making jewelry is definitely one of my absolute favorite creative outlets, right next to fashion.

See ya next time!!! πŸ’•

  1. When I saw this post title, I was so hoping it meant that you got the yellow shoes. I was so glad to see that I was right! They’re so cute and sunshiney and the perfect punctuation to your ’70s outfits!!! The fox bow is the perfect touch, as is the Mavis Beacon tie-in and the play on the word “digging.” Thanks for the shout-out; I’m happy I could help in some small way with all your shortall shopping adventures! Finally, your new jewelry is adorably fun and colorful. Is there anything better than a crafting spree?! πŸ™‚
