Reading “Monster Blood” During a Monster Storm & Daycare Fashion Flair

A couple of days ago, my sister and I went to a favorite coffee spot of ours, only to find out that they were closed for maintenance and inventory loading once we got there. Luckily for us though, the barista went ahead and made our drinks to go – we just had to find somewhere to park and enjoy our coffee. After a little bit of driving, we found a big, open parking lot that overlooked this grand view of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the distance – the perfect view before the monster storm arrived late the next day here in California! ☔️

While we sat in the car, drinking our coffee and chatting, we spotted across the street a daycare center, and I noticed the red, yellow, and blue colors of the play equipment. There’s just something so striking about that color combination that I hadn’t really thought about before, and I kept thinking about it as the day went on. By the next day, while I stayed cozy at home as the big rain and wind storm rolled its way in, I had created this RYB Color Queen statement ring and even coordinated a daycare-fashion-flair outfit around it! 🐻❤️💛💙

I know my ABC’s = Always Be Creative! 😋 And while this storm passes through, I’ll be enjoying my Goosebumps Monster Blood series to keep me entertained!

  1. Not that I have to be a teacher to have those shoes, but I would have LOVED to have those when I was a teacher! They are so cute!! And I dunno if you play Animal Crossing New Horizons but there are some players who do their entire island in a “kidcore” style and it is super adorable and colorful!

    1. You’re so right – they are perfect teacher shoes!!! And I have never played Animal Crossing New Horizons, but the “kidcore” style of their island design sounds so cute! I will definitely Google it – thank you for the recommendation!! ❤

  2. What a great post! I love how your go-to coffee shop made your drinks even though it was closed, and how that created an opportunity for you and your sister to enjoy the calm before the storm. I know what you mean about primary colors; I’m a huge fan of them, so I absolutely adore your new RYB Color Queen ring! I also love how you styled your Goosebumps books with the colorful toys and that you said “I know my ABC’s = Always Be Creative!” So funny — and so true! Here’s to weathering the rest of the storms and embarking on colorful adventures. 💖💙💛
