Pot of Gold

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!!! ☘🍀

I hope your day is merry and green. 💚 Today I bring you a festive outfit and some artwork I finished very late last night!

Dress from Forever21 (tailored) and shamrock clips from Claire’s

As you can see, I successfully made everything green today. 😉 It’s a lovely Sunday to be outdoors and enjoy some coffee and a macaron for lunch. 💚☘

So, I had the most electric jolt of creativity last night. Was it my strawberry banana bee pollen smoothie and bowl of fruit I had for dinner at Lassen’s?! Not sure. I came home around eight p.m., pulled out my sketchbook, put on The Beginning is the End is the Beginning live by the Smashing Pumpkins, and away into the creative stratosphere I went.

[You guys are probably tired of me referencing this concert yet again!! What can I say though, if I find something that inspires me, my head and heart can’t help going back].

The aesthetic they chose for this song at their concert appeals to me for a lot of reasons; the main two are 1) the nod to the 1920’s/1930’s showgirl and 2) the song itself paired with the visuals together is beautifully creepy and unsettling. The girls go from camera ready smiles to death glares looking right at you, interchangeably throughout.

It was one of my favorites from their setlist, and so I came up with my own artwork inspired by it (I finished this around 1 a.m. last night!!)

I titled it Life is a Film and We’re the Stars. 🌟

Because life in a way, is just like a film. The highlights and memories we recall are the film reels we replay in our mind. If we recall dark moments, we can choose to replace them with a positive attitude, which are the gleaming, camera-ready smiles that somehow become surreal, the longer you stare at them.

And there are two of them, because life is a constant duality. Positive and negative. Light and dark. Smiles and death glares. Beginning and end.

I’m really, really happy with how this turned out!!!

‘Til next time! 😀

Pink & Yellow

Hi hi!

It is a cold, windy weekend with even a thunderstorm warning that came through…exciting!! Fortunately I was able to watch the rain and wind through the comfort of a Starbucks window…

My ensemble today consists of two colors that I think work magically well together! Pink and yellow!

My default pose: thumbs up
New crown ring on the left is a gift from my sis!!!

I love these groovy bell-sleeves: it’s a mesh top from Forever 21 with a pink H&M cardigan over it. The skirt is also from Forever 21. ❤️

It was a productive past week and I made some new Valentine’s Day themed rings for my Etsy shop!! It has been way too long since I made anything new and I’m happy with the outcome. 😃 Cute, no?

I also spent a lot of time on my newest illustration, and I think it turned out great for my first religious-themed piece. I’ve always loved the Virgin Mary, so I knew it was something I wanted to depict artistically eventually.

It also helped that I’ve been reliving the Smashing Pumpkins concert I attended in November by watching the videos I recorded of it, and the backdrops when they sang “Mayonaise” have always stuck with me. So I did my own take on the Virgin Mary.

Shoutout to the last beautiful backdrop they had up at the end of the song, which I (sadly) didn’t get a photo of on my own phone! Some memories stir the soul and this concert definitely did that for me.

And then my Friday night was made when I was sitting at Starbucks perusing YouTube and saw that Ghost just performed live on a French television show…

And as if that weren’t awesome enough, it followed with an interview of the lead singer completely unmasked, for once.

HIS EYES. ❤️ I’M DYING.

Bye!

Welcome, world! 🙂

I caught a photo of the super moon from the other night – however many nights ago it was – and it was super bright! I managed to get a decent photo of it. ❤

walking-trail

My start of the year is definitely beginning nicely, I would say! The other day I went for a walk on a different trail, and got myself a hot cup of coffee beforehand to keep warm. This trail is really nice because it’s within the city, so it’s settled in a pretty residential area. Nice for a change of scenery. 🙂

Today’s outfit!

berries-on-branch

Nothing like finding little dead tree particles to keep me entertained!! There’s nothing left of the big tree out front, except for some twigs and berries…

Today I tried something different: I wore some faux fur boot cuffs! I look ready for treacherous, snowy terrain…

… jk. Don’t the little cuffs add something to the boots, though? Totally changes the entire look!

Overall, this is a very fun look, in my opinion. I think it’d look cute too with an entirely pink outfit! Like a snow-Barbie look.

January is a relaxing, calm month in my opinion because it’s post-holidays, and it’s nestled in a window of time where winter carries on, but there’s that anticipation for spring in the back of my mind in the months to come…

I really tend to romanticize the seasons, don’t I?

I’m feeling really positive and happy, as it’s the beginning of a new year and I’m just doing my thing, sketching out ideas for new projects, and ordering the materials I need. ❤ Suuuuuuper excited for that!

I’ll leave you with my latest digital art. I titled it Winter Wonderland and I aimed for it to inspire feelings of joy and wholesome fun.

See you next time! ❤
