Triple Scoop

IMG_2973

Heeeeeeey! (Me, pointing out the fact that my headband matches the roses.)

Welcome to everyone reading! This is a “triple scoop” post…as in, featuring three outfits. The ice cream reference will make sense later, promise!

It’s been a really good week and I wore some fun outfits, so I figured I’d feature them all in one, since I have an exciting post coming up on Saturday. 🙂

IMG_2970

Red! Well, burgundy-red. This is one of my all-time favorite dresses…it’s perfect for summer and very casual. I’ve had this for years! I think it’s from Forever 21, and it’s lasted for so long.

IMG_2977

I’ve mentioned before that I don’t wear red all that often, but when I do, I realize that it’s a nice color!

IMG_3004

Next up, I wore an outfit I really really loved that was a combination of dusty rose pink and pastel blue. Love this look!!! I told my sister the colors made me think of the Care Bears. Hahaha…

IMG_3021

My sandals are baaaack. It’s been in the 90’s here so, I figured it was time to bring out the open-toe shoes again! These are my favorite summer shoes. ♥

Aside from feeling like one of the Care Bears, it also reminded me of a carnival…like I needed to be eating cotton candy.

IMG_3032

This is where the ICE CREAM comes in…

I mentioned in my last post that I bought a new pin from the super cute Etsy shop, The Tote Trove, where I have bought many a pin in my past, and this one I am very happy to add to my collection!!!

Ice cream, folks…an instant winner and perfect for summer.  🙂 My eye immediately was drawn to the mint chocolate chip one since that’s my favorite flavor ever…

IMG_3037

IMG_3034

IMG_3035

It makes me want to pay a visit to my local Baskin Robbins. It’s been at least a year or so since I’ve had mint chocolate chip ice cream. Whaaaaaat!

Lastly, I’d like to show some of my art I’ve done this past week. I’ve been in a drawing mood, so here we go:

purple-hair

I really love this one. ♥ The second drawing I did, I’ll show you the process I go through, since I’ve never shared that before!

IMG_3003

I always draw on the back of some paper within reach. It’s not always in a sketchbook, since I don’t carry one with me, typically. I draw out the main idea and make sure to draw the lines a bit dark, which will help later once I transfer it into Photoshop.

IMG_3026

In Photoshop is where the magic happens!!! I then start to add color…

IMG_3027

IMG_3003

Aaaaaand the final outcome!!! I love to use a mix of traditional drawing and Photoshop. In this piece, I aimed to capture the essence of a fashionable free spirit. ♥

There you have it! I hope you enjoyed my little behind-the-scenes of my art. Haha!

IMG_3030

I’m really excited for the weekend (as you can see from my Bitmoji above) because I’m going on a road trip for the day! I haven’t been out of town in awhile. I’ll save where I’m going until the next blog post…it’s a surprise! I’ve wanted to go to this place for a looooong time.

See you soon! ♥

Life Eternal

img_2889.jpg

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed your week. 🙂 Today I bring you some fun, colorful and happy things. Let’s get started!

IMG_2894

There’s something I adore about red, white, and PINK!!! I made this new red rose headband and I love the combination of these three colors together.

IMG_2895

IMG_2913

IMG_2901

IMG_2912

I also have this headband in hot pink, and you might recognize it because I wear the hot pink one a lot. But yes, I really love the fact I have a red rose one now. In addition, I made a bright yellow one as well! I’ll feature that one soon, I’m sure. 🙂

IMG_2909

I mentioned to Tracy over at The Tote Trove that her beautiful new ice cream barrette she created (and I bought, by the way, so I’ll be wearing it soon as a pin!) reminded me of the first jewelry box I ever made. I figured I’d feature it here:

IMG_2914

I LOVE THIS LITTLE THING! I made it just for fun, years ago. The box itself is made out of cardboard but the pastries are made out of wood, which I painted myself.

IMG_2918 (1)

♥ Doesn’t it look totally edible? ♥

I can’t wait for my little ice cream pin to arrive. It totally reminds me of this. 🙂

IMG_2941

In other news, I totally binge watched a few episodes of Disney’s “Star Darlings” last night. LOOOOOL!!! If there is one show that instantly makes me feel happy – it’s THIS!

It follows a group of girls at Starling Academy in outer space, where they’re training to become wish granters. The show is too cute for words. ♥ Needless to say, Sage (the one with the big purple hair) is my favorite.

IMG_2948

Last but not least, I RECEIVED THE NEW GHOST ALBUM IN THE MAIL TODAY!!!

I so needed this. It couldn’t have been more perfect timing. It’s funny how the theme of the album parallels with my life at the moment, so listening to it from start to finish was like a warm embrace. ♥♥♥

I love when music does that!

I feel so much happier these last few days. You just have to roll with the tides of life and rather than resisting, sometimes you just have to hold its hand instead.

Much love to all who are reading this! See ya!

I Tried My First Poke Bowl…

IMG_2776

Hi!

Poke bowl, poke bowl…I have heard so much about these things. I’ve heard about it from co-workers, to seeing new food places suddenly pop up everywhere where I live, and it all seems to be about poke. I had NO idea what it was, to be honest…

But a friend of mine asked me earlier this week if I wanted to go with her to have a poke bowl at a place called Butterfish – her treat. I agreed, and I was overall pretty happy with it! It was so filling, though. I couldn’t even finish a small bowl. It felt so unusual eating a bowl of what basically is sushi, sans the seaweed!!!

So, I have tried it. Funny enough, my outfit I’m about to show you matches the aforementioned poke bowl itself…

Which was not planned, by the way…

IMG_2781

I really, really love this outfit. The blouse is a hand-me-down from my mom, so I’m not sure how old it is. It’s very comfortable and casual, though!

IMG_2805

I think this is my favorite headband, ever. It’s just so COLORFUL!!! It adds a pop of color to the otherwise neutral-tone outfit. 🙂

IMG_2823

Lastly, the same friend who took me for the poke bowl, we ended up going to Teazer World Tea Market. I hadn’t been in soooooo long, but I knew exactly what I wanted there.

I wanted the Tiger Spice Chai, which is amaaaaazing. I’m not a tea person, but this drink…oh my goodness. It’s definitely my favorite. It has that cinnamon-like taste to it. I was in heaven drinking this thing!!! ♥♥♥ Doesn’t it look delicious?

So yes, friends…this week was all about trying new food and being reacquainted with old tea drinks from the past.

I hope you all enjoyed your week! See ya!

Ghost and Glitter

IMG_2737

Helloooooooooooooo!!!

This is going to be a long blog post, so sit back, grab something to eat or drink (or both) and enjoy! I have so much to share. ♥

First off, let me tell you a bit about my totally random, new Ghost shirt:

IMG_2707

I can’t even count how many confused stares this shirt received when I wore it on Saturday. I was out and about, at Starbucks and later on went to get some Indian food take-out, and a few people would just stare at the shirt blankly, looking mildly confused. So what I’m saying is, the shirt was a success!

It says Rats! by the way, but my hair covers that. This is referencing their new hit single, called Rats:

tumblr_p74g487jy61u3mdhmo1_540

And the photo on my shirt is referencing the lead singer’s newest ensemble:

34c6ae9dd3bd407ad2a5683a2915e82f

But basically, my outfit is a tad confusing in general because you have the dainty crochet collar, a vintage-looking brooch, a happy red rose headband and then this scary cardinal priest thrown into the mix.

IMG_2712

IMG_2740

I’m loving my eyeshadow I’ve been using…just a regular brown with a shimmery copper brown. Love love love! ♥

IMG_2754

For today’s outfit, it kind of has mermaid vibes with all the sequins going on, and the color palette. ♥

IMG_2768

IMG_2755

This is a cardigan I bought when I was in high school! I remember wearing it many times, close to when I was about to graduate my senior year. Memories! ♥

IMG_2771

I’d like to take a moment to talk about my new glitter sensory bottle I purchased from my friend Vee, who makes them and sells them!

The idea behind it is that they help you calm down if you feel stressed or are experiencing any anxiety. You just shake it around and it’s a whirlwind of magical glitter! Can’t go wrong with that, no?

It’s basically a bottle of magic! I keep it in my purse and if I by chance feel overwhelmed by anything at the moment, or just need a break of focus, I take it out and give it a shake.

IMG_2772

If you’re interested in seeing more of the sensory bottles she makes, check out her Instagram here!

I hope you enjoyed this fun post! Have a great day! ♥

Rockin’ Retro

IMG_2640

Behold, a STICK!!!

Hi! I bring a double outfit post today, so sit back and enjoy! It was a fun-filled weekend and I wore two outfits I really loved and wanted to share. Yay!

IMG_2630

A lovely white frock adorned with little red hearts! I wore this on Valentine’s Day, and haven’t worn it since. No idea why I haven’t? I’ve been missing out, because this dress is awesome!!!

IMG_2628

The lace sleeves are actually separate. I wore a lace top underneath to give it a more feminine look.

IMG_2631

IMG_2633

DANG IT, WIND!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_2637

IMG_2635

This was my Friday outfit. I went for coffee with a friend that night and we chatted and caught up on life. It was a perfect, warm evening to boot. 🙂

IMG_2664

Here’s the second outfit! I wore this on Sunday, and this was another super retro look, paired with the bow. ❤ (Also, I love my crooked bangs, by the way).

IMG_2653

I look like I’m up to something…but what?

IMG_2652

This lace trim collar is detachable. My sister made it for me, and I love it! Instant vintage vibes. 🙂

IMG_2659

IMG_2660

IMG_2662

My beat up, old shoes…

IMG_2670 (1)

Aw, look at those cracks. What’s funny is that I have so many brand new shoes I love to wear (like the other black ones pictured in the first outfit), but every now and then, I still bring out these old-timey shoes because I just love them for some reason.

I randomly painted some rocks, too…

IMG_2679

The top one looks like a sugar cookie, doesn’t it? I don’t recommend taking a bite. 😉

These are cute decorations for my backyard. I loooove how they turned out. I’ve wanted to paint a few rocks for awhile now, and glad I finally did!

In a nutshell, my weekend was fabulous! I went to a small craft fair on Saturday evening to see my friend who had her own booth setup there, then spent the remainder of the evening at Barnes & Noble.

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. 🙂

See ya!

Fit for a Queen

IMG_2522

Hiiiiiiiiiiiii.

How are you all?! I hope whoever you are, wherever you are, you’re doing fantastic!

I have a double feature today for my post, so sit back, and enjoy!

First off…yesterday I showcased at Art Hop for the second time! It was really fun and I have photos to share.

IMG_2518

Just noticed my reflection is in the picture…and my car, straight ahead. LOOOOL.

I took the day off to enjoy a relaxing day before the show started, and ended up at my favorite coffee shop that morning. And what was I doing, you may ask? Why, studying Swedish, of course. I’m learning it for fun, just because I enjoy learning other languages. What better way to learn than with a kopp kaffe, non? (That was a French/Swedish mashup, right there.)

I should probably not mashup different languages in a sentence because that’s exactly what got me a C in Italian in college. Yikes!!! Italian was hard for me and I’d end up accidentally writing answers in a mix of French and Italian on tests.

IMG_2524

The vintage nightgown/robe I’m so crazy about, which I did a blog post about last weekend, is back! I couldn’t NOT wear it to Art Hop…too cute! Also, I noticed that just wearing a different color skirt underneath totally changes the look. The material is so sheer that it adapts to whatever color you put beneath! Here, it looks more white.

IMG_2526

IMG_2525

IMG_2537

This is my standard setup at Art Hop, although this time, I had new greeting cards and I brought one of the fiction books I published a few years back! So it was a combination of several different things. 🙂

I really want to try more traditional media, for a change. I’ve gotten so used to digital illustration that I feel I need to try something new that will challenge me. So that’s my next artistic endeavor.

It was a fun evening and a lot of people were out at Art Hop. Good times!

Happy Star Wars Day!

IMG_2547

SO!!! It came to my attention last night that on this lovely Friday, it is May 4th, which is Star Wars Day! I totally had to wear my Queen Amidala shirt to celebrate today!

Fun fact: I bought this shirt in 1999. I was in 6th grade when Episode I: The Phantom Menace came out (can’t believe it’s going on 20 years now). As a young girl, I was obsessed with the Queen, and even my English teacher back then nicknamed me The Queen because I had so much Queen Amidala merchandise (folders, T-shirts, etc).

What’s not to love? She’s the queen of her own beautiful planet, she’s strong-minded and has a wardrobe like no other. Oh, and her hair! It’s a given why I adore her so much. 😉

IMG_2550

IMG_2551

IMG_2558

IMG_2555

And there you have it, folks! It was fun to bring out this shirt again. I think I’ll make it a new tradition to wear it on May the 4th, from now on. Heck, I may as well watch The Phantom Menace tonight while I’m at it!

I hope you enjoyed reading!

See you soon! Or if you want some Swedish…vi ses snart! 😉

Frills & Lace

IMG_2497

Hellooo!

I bring to you today a real fashion treat I’ve been dying to wear and blog about!

This little number is a vintage piece, and guess what? It’s actually a 1960’s nightgown/robe. So I am totally walking around today in vintage sleepwear, although I have re-styled it into a dress!

IMG_2473

How’s that for transforming a nightgown into daytime wear?

IMG_2479

The SLEEVES, PEOPLE. That is what initially drew me to this lovely garment, because they’re lace and they flare at the bottom. Plus, the skirt portion is lavender/pink-ish and I knew immediately it’d lay perfectly over my matching lavender skirt I already own and wear frequently.

IMG_2477

It was originally floor length, but I cut it into a mini-dress. I was really nervous about this because it’s vintage and I was worried about how it’d turn out, but I grabbed the scissors and fortunately it ended well.

I’m seriously in love with this little robe, not only because I find it beautiful but because I wonder what life it led before it fell into my hands? There’s a history I’ll never know about it and that’s a big reason why I love vintage items in the first place.

IMG_2501

I love how the color varies depending on what kind of light it’s in. Sometimes it looks more pink, and other times it’s more purple. Either way it works because I love both colors!

IMG_2485

IMG_2478

It is ridiculously windy today!!! And I promised my friend we’d go for a walk early this evening?! Oh well, I will brave the elements. Plus, this outfit was made to walk around in! I feel like I’m back in time wearing this.

On a random note, this past week I have discovered a new musical genre I’ve become quite fond of:

IMG_2467

Basically, Viking metal. YESSS!!! This is what I love about Spotify. I end up off the beaten path and find music I never even knew existed. One minute I’m listening to one band, then BAM! I trip and stumble into some other music category and end up liking it, like this one.

I feel like I’m on the way to fight dragons when I have this on in my car…when really, I’m just going to Starbucks to do some work on my laptop.

Isn’t imagination everything, though?

Like last night, for example. I spent my Saturday evening at Barnes & Noble, got myself a drink at the café and went to my favorite section: the travel section. It’s nice to imagine what other places are like. I looked through ones at random: Belgium, Finland, Norway, Turkey. I’m endlessly fascinated by geography, so much that when I was a kid in elementary school, I got in trouble for checking out too many geography books from the library.

Yes, you read that right. I got in trouble for checking out too many books.

I enjoyed reading the Cultures of the World series and I still remember the librarian yelling at me that I was checking out too many books. LOOOOL! So as you can see, nothing’s changed. I’m still a geography nerd. 🙂

Thanks for reading! See ya soon!
