Here Comes the Sun

Happy Monday, world! ❀

On Saturday night, I perused through my local Claire’s and found a sale going on for hair accessories, so needless to say, I couldn’t pass through without buying something. I’ve always wanted a black-and-red-checkered hair bow, because it has such a rockabilly vibe to it. Finally found one, and I’m in love with it! I have a feeling it’s going to become one of my go-to hair bows now. πŸ˜›

I got my nails re-done. FINALLY. I have a bad habit of thinking, I’ll get them re-done tomorrow…okay the next day…wait, I’ll go next week!Β They were super grown out and it didn’t look so good, lol! I love these; they’re a nice neutral color, which I typically prefer for my nail shape and length.

I usually take my blog photos in the morning, but I ended up taking photos in the evening, right before I went for a walk. The late evening sun made for some interesting lighting concepts! I like it.

The green skirt I’ve had for awhile and bought at Forever 21, and the blouse is a hand-me-down from my mom.

So I stopped by this new place called Rita’s. They serve all kinds of things: Italian shaved ice, frozen custard, etc! It was reeeeally good, and I bought the Juicy Pear flavored Italian shaved ice. It reminded me of Honeydew, which is a favorite flavor of mine.

And then, for a nice walk. It might look like I live out in the middle of nowhere, and in a way, I kind of do; there’s about half-a-million people here, but it’s right in the middle of California. So it’s like a big city in the middle of nowhere, with the coast about 2 or 3 hours away. πŸ™‚ I like walking at this park because it gets me away from the cityscape for a short while.

I love the pink and purple shades of the clouds over the Sierra Nevada mountains last night. There’s a chance of rain this week and I really hope it rains, because I miss it! It’s almost always sunny here.

Capture the beauty that’s all around you. ❀

Summer Daze

So while walking Woodward Park yesterday, this happened:

Much to my surprise, I saw my first out-in-the-wild snake. NOT cool! It was blocking the pathway to the trail I normally walk…literally right in the middle of it, to where no one could pass. I’m not a fan of snakes in any capacity, so needless to say, I was freaked out.

This afternoon, while momentarily bored and looking for something to occupy my time until I go to the bookstore this evening, I decided to go outdoors (well, outside my house) and take some photos!

I’m definitely an amateur, but I enjoy experimenting with photography! πŸ™‚

Hey there, fly…

Tried a filter on this one…next little make-shift photoshoot I do, I plan on using one filter for the entire shoot to create a consistent theme.

I’ve already taken photos of this outfit I’m wearing today, so no outfit post. I really enjoyed taking photos of things I would otherwise overlook in my front yard. That’s why boredom can be a gateway to some creative whim!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone’s week is starting off right! ❀

Out & About

Yesterday was awesome because it was finally warm enough for me to take a nice, long walk through the back end of Woodward Park!

I’m not sure what it is, but I really find the back end of Woodward Park to be the best area. It over looks Madera County and is really flat, getting away from the concrete jungle city limits and out into the countryside.

I have NO idea what kind of bird this is. I had to take a picture, though.

It’s really good to get outside and walk around exploring nature, taking random pictures of whatever happens to grab your attention. I always feel rejuvenated after I do. πŸ™‚

Happy Friday!

Down By the River…

Today I did something totally different and went with a friend of mine to the outskirts of town and hung out by a random river (not even sure which one, somewhere in Madera County? Haha). It was beautiful outside but so chilly…kinda ruined the fun because I didn’t want to stay long…it’d help if I actually dressed appropriately for the weather, too. πŸ˜›

Took some random shots in my house, wearing my red ensemble. The little blazer and the dress are very old clothes I’ve had for years upon years…can’t even remember where I got them from.

Strawberry hairclip. πŸ™‚

The river was very placid and still…so calming! Finally a cloudless day, Β to boot.

Happy…but so cold, haha.

Finished the morning at Kuppa Joy coffee shop…could not get over how beautiful the latte art was!

Happy Friday! πŸ˜‰
