I Wear My Hearts in My Hair

Hi hiiii… πŸ’š

Happy start-of-the-weekend! I hope you all enjoyed your week. I blinked, and it was gone…

I feel like I’ve been lagging on outfits…like I’ve been struggling to pair things together in a fresh way! I found some old accessories I’d forgotten about in a drawer recently and have been wearing them, though. πŸ˜ƒ

I think I’ll go thrift shopping soon!

I found these little heart hair clips (one purple, one pink), that I bought at Claire’s a long time ago. I forgot how cute they are!! πŸ’œ

On Good Morning America Friday morning, I spotted Blink-182 playing on the summer concert series. It took me two seconds to sprint over to my CD shelf and retrieve this gem I’d forgotten about: Enema of the State.

Oh my…the memories!!!! I put it on in my car on my way to Starbucks and was instantly transported back to 1999, 7th grade. ❀️ Blink-182 became hugely popular that year, so the album is literally a time capsule.

It ranks up there as one of my favorite albums! Makes me think of middle school and how innocent it all was, because when I started high school (2001), that entered the 9/11 era. There was a lot of coverage about the war going on in Iraq/Afghanistan throughout my high school years, which has always stuck with me.

On a last note, I FINALLY tried fish ice cream!!! ❀️ It’s not a real fish, but a waffle crust that looks like a fish, with ice cream inside. I purchased it to-go at a Japanese restaurant…it was really good, and cute!

See ya next time!!

Apples to Apples

Happy weekend!!! I am feeling that ‘winter, you have overstayed your welcome…’ and am longing for spring something fierce. The solution is, if you can’t make spring hurry up, then you can just BECOME Spring. Like literally become the season with legs.

Are you a fall, winter, summer or spring person? Which is your favorite? I’ve always loved fall and it being the gateway to the holiday season, but then I know in the back of my mind that winter will soon arrive. Thus, I’ve realized spring is my true soul season because it means winter is over and I can be outside more, enjoying the warmth! Plus, it means summer is on its way and I love the smell of blossoms in the air during spring. πŸ’œ

Check out my new apple hair bows and unicorn necklace from The Tote Trove! I’m so loving these accessories; they add a whole other level of cuteness!

I kind of look like a lost penguin who somehow strayed away from the flock but is still doing well in life.
I’ve had this yellow dress for so long! It’s a thrift find from Goodwill. 😊

Art Hop was an absolute BLAAAAAAAAAST and my Valentine’s Day- themed display table turned out so lovely, I thought! The turn out was really big and there was a lot of foot traffic.

The one thing though that absolutely made my entire evening, was this painting! One of my friends, Phil, was also showcasing his work…and much to my surprise, he had done a painting…of me!

I stood there, mouth agape, and was like…”Is that me???”

He was a bit bashful about it at first, not sure how I would react. I was overjoyed! Honored, happy, and probably the highest compliment I could receive! πŸ’œ

‘Til next time!! 🌸

The Art of Fashion

Hi, and happy Thursday! Today is Art Hop night and I’m super excited. πŸ˜ƒ I wanted to post my outfit beforehand because I reeeeeeeeally love it!

I recently bought a few pastel cardigans from Amazon, and I love how they pair so nicely with the clothes I already have! I love mixing pastels together, and so here you have a soft blue and pink ensemble:

Closeup of my gigantic hair and my ladybug hairclips…love these little guys!!

It’s been I thiiiiiiink…since October when I last showcased at Art Hop? Long time. Therefore, the excitement for tonight is even more so and I have some friends who are also showcasing at the same spot. FUN FUN FUN…

I look forward to sharing how it went in my next post! How has everyone’s week been? Good, I hope? πŸ˜‰ Seeeeee you next time!

Bug Life

Howdy doooo! 🐞

Check out my new hair clips that feature lady bugs…one of my favorite bugs! They’re kind of hard to tell what they are in my dark hair, but they’re lady bugs no less…

So now I have gone from butterflies to lady bugs. Interchangeably, of course!

I’ve been wanting some lady bug hair clips for awhile; I decided to just make them (they are iron-ons, and I glued alligator clips to the back of each). Yay! The day just feels better if you have bugs in your hair.

I am legitimately in love with this pink sweater? It’s the brightest pink I think I have ever seen…it’s even brighter in person, the camera can’t do it complete justice!

I now have four of these sweaters, all in different colors. I own yellow, mint green, blue (haven’t worn that one yet), and now pink. You can find a link to these sweaters here! They are so warm and fun to wear.

I can’t believe it’s almost February! I’m so excited for two reasons: 1) I love Valentine’s Day; it’s one of my favorite holidays and 2) I’m showcasing at Art Hop. I’m doing a Valentine’s Day-themed art display, so it’ll be cute!

Did you all enjoy January? 🌸 I hope so. One month closer to spring, no?

‘Til Next Time!

All About That Balance

Ahoy!

I bring to you, some truly interesting outfits I wore this week. Wearing hair clips from Sally Beauty Supply that the box states is for children, and risk-taking pattern mixing?

‘TWAS NOT A DULL WEEK…

IMG_3979

Aight, so the heart hair clips are from Sally Beauty Supply as I mentioned, and the choker I paired with it collectively just screams: Oh 90’s, Where Art Thou?

The choker necklace, I have no idea where it is from. My sister gave me it because she said she didn’t like how it looked on her. Score for me – I love it! It’s such an unusual choker…I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like it.

It’s a Friday so I thought why not; let’s pair a bird-printed top with a floral skirt. Because I have only one life to live and I’m going to live it well. At first hesitant, I then decided to give it a go.

YET SOMEHOW…IT WORKED.

With the dark blues and light blues, it comes together gloriously in an explosion of irony. Birds and flowers, unite. Mixed prints, unite. I wore my black T-strap flats with the outfit, which tied it all together.

A lady this morning at the cafΓ© I go to said I looked “fun” today.

YESSS!

Fun is what I aim for. I like my outfits to be fun and playful, so it was a success.

In other news, it was a good week and seemed to go by really fast. I blinked and it was suddenly Friday. Outside of work, I’ve been drawing and reading, even more so…

IMG_3948

I made a pretty new drawing, and I’m going to get it framed and take it with me to my next art showcase, which will be September 1st! I love the colors I went with…I wasn’t sure what kind of colors I wanted initially, but I just thought, the brighter the better. Very pleased with the outcome.Β β™₯

As for reading, I’m only a chapter away from finishingΒ No Easy Day, an autobiography of a Navy SEAL. This is my third SEAL book and I love it just as much as the others I’ve read.

It’s the dichotomy. I love extremely girly things, but I need a balance, and that’s where the testosterone-fueled, jumping-out-of-helicopters, action-packed genre of books I enjoy comes in.

It’s like the yin and yang. Or YANG AND YIN?

This leads me to an observation. My fascination with things totally opposite of me isn’t just with books. Come to think of it, if I reflect on my very short list of guys I have gone out with in the past: one was super logical/technical-minded, and another was in law enforcement and really loved guns, and very much was a logical thinker.

In other words, polar opposite from me.

SEE WHAT I MEAN?

If I (ever?) at some point feel like dating again in the years ahead, perhaps I should lean towards dating a fellow artist, or something along those lines? The thing is, I enjoy learning about someone who is totally different than me. I still am not sure if the whole opposites attract is good or bad when it comes to the romantic spectrum. What do you all think? Enlighten me.

I tend to gravitate towards the more left-brained I suppose, to offset my blissfully creative albeit scattered right-brain. You know I’m all about the artsy life…

Or more accurately for me, a Dodge.

See ya!!! β™₯

Pretty Little Cupcakes

This is another DIY headband post with an outfit of the day…I know, I know…I’ve been making a LOT of headbands lately!

cupcake-headband

I’ve wanted a cupcake headband for a long time, just because I thought it’d be cute and I’m all about the cute things. ❀ I made this using buttons I bought at Joann’s for only $2.99! There are more cupcake buttons that came in the packet, and I turned them into a ring.

Very fun accessories that are ultra sweet and add some quirkiness!

Pink and purple just feels right to go along with the cupcake headband, don’t you think?

Well folks, I hope you’re doing great this mid-week! Apart from working, I’ve just been making stuff, brainstorming new creative ideas and enjoying life. πŸ™‚

Until next time!

Have a Beautiful Day! ❀
