Rainy Day Rambles: Polly Pockets & Frappuccinos

Hi!! 💕

I thought I’d do something a little different today, rather than my usual outfit posts! It’s a cold, rainy and wet Sunday, and I have a very warm table inside Starbucks as I type this. I’d much rather just watch the rain from afar than be out in it * ick *.

I have many a Polly Pocket from my childhood, and recently I was reunited with my absolute favorite one, which I found in a box! Funny enough, I had a dream about this Polly Pocket. That motivated me to search for it…guess we were meant to reunite, huh? Thanks, dream!

I’d actually forgotten what was inside. Turns out, it’s an Arabian palace theme, complete with a red jewel in a chest and a monkey. ❤️ MEMORIES……………

Fast forward to present day. Thanks to Google search, I learned that Polly Pockets are still being made. I actually did not know this! I thought they were a thing of the past, but apparently they’re still in creation.

How could I not? It’s a CAKE SLICE!!!!

I was stunned, as a woman in her 30’s speaking, at how Polly Pocket has evolved since I had them in the early 90’s. I mean this is ultra fancy, upscale Polly Pocket now; look at the interior design and attention to detail?!?!

Also, the figurines are a a very soft rubber texture now. My mind was blown, hahaaa…

Lastly, let’s take a look at my new hair clips! What a photo opportunity this was, no?

My sister made these hair clips for me (and several other Christmas themed ones you’ll see in upcoming outfit posts!). I wore these yesterday and I received more compliments on them than I would have imagined…although, I should have known since I was going into a Starbucks with frappuccinos on my head. I was like a walking Starbucks advertisement! 💚 yeeeeeah

Cheers to cute things. I’ll sip to that… * sips peppermint mocha *

Bye !

My Umbrella Broke…

…but I figured, why not just do a photoshoot of the broken umbrella anyway?

No big deal. It’s only MY FAVORITE UMBRELLA.

You can see the metal protruding from the pink fabric, in the above picture. In the meantime, I’m using a polka dot one I have on hand but…I need to buy a new pink one. 😦 I’ve had this one for soooooooooooo long.

I’ve been in a REALLY good mood this week. A super good mood, in fact! However, there’s electrical issues in my house in the main room I use (it’s being handled, just have to have patience) and then today my umbrella broke.

But I’m still determined to be upbeat, despite all the annoyances. Featured above is me with a big ol’ grin that makes it seem like I’m oblivious to the damage, but the main star of the show is my broken umbrella. I’m just a supporting character in this.

I don’t normally wear much blue, but I went all out today! I really love this denim jacket (fun fact: I’ve had it since 6th grade).

A huge storm is headed our way this evening and into the night!!! Should be cool, as there’s expected to be thunder and lightning. I’m currently sipping a hot mocha at Starbucks, writing this blog post, and then I’m going to start working on a new digital illustration. ❤

But back to the main point:

Therefore, I need to be on the lookout for a new pink umbrella, and once I find one, I’ll be sure to feature it in a future rainy day post. Without metal sticking out of it!

See ya next time!

Raindrops + Sunshowers

Du kan få stå under mitt paraply…❤ That’s the only remotely romantic thing I know how to say in Swedish (you can stand underneath my umbrella). Besides jag älksar dig (I love you). Jag älksar dig, Lassen’s Peanut Butter Power Smoothie!

Hello there, beautiful people! It rained this weekend where I live, and I was super happy about it and even went for a nice walk. Rain walks are definitely my new favorite!! Nothing compares to the smell of rain, especially at the park with all the vegetation.

Outfit of the Day…

I really love my new sweater tights I bought at Target! They’re a nice nude color that’ll go with anything, so I’m sure they’ll be a staple for me this fall/winter.

Do you have a go-to playlist for when it’s rainy outside? I’m sure it’s a thing. For me, I tend to always gravitate towards the Smashing Pumpkins album, Machina/The Machines of God, which came out back in 2000.

It’s one of those albums that just fits perfectly with walking in the rain, in my opinion. That’s also where I got the title for this post (I’m not Billy-Corgan-cool enough to come up with a title like that on my own), as it’s a song off the album and probably one of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs in general. ❤

Enjoy the start of your week! ‘Til next time!
