I Love Hair Clips That are Meant for Kids

Tis the season for cloudy and foggy days!! The grey skies could use some color, so that’s where my outfit comes in, and also my stash of kids hair clips I keep within easy reach on my bathroom counter. I love these things…

They make me think of elementary school in the early-to-mid 90’s. Here are the highlights of my elementary school life that I fondly think back on:

  • Wearing two different colored socks to school each day
  • Being on the cheer squad
  • Being Commissioner of Grounds (I won every time because I was the only kid who ran for it), in which I was given a clipboard and map of the school and was granted permission by my teachers to walk around the campus once a week to rate how clean the school was. I still vividly remember walking across the playground and onto the dewey grass in the winter months, surrounded by fog in the early morning hour, and marking my little paper whether the field deserved a 1-5 score on cleanliness. Then I gave the report to the janitor.

So basically, they were epic times…

I LOVE ORANGE AND PINK. It makes me think of…Dunkin Donuts! 😀

I AM SEEMINGLY ALWAYS HOLDING A FRAPPUCINO…………………….

And on the topic of school, these last photos were taken at Fresno City College at sunset, as the deep orange sun rays danced across the buildings. My friend and I walked around the campus, admiring the architecture while sipping our coffees and chatting about our time there. I spent one semester at this school waaaaaay back in the day before I transferred to Fresno State University! It was nice to revisit it and appreciate the architectural beauty, especially during this time of year when autumn is slowly transitioning into winter. ❤️

Desert Time

Not to be confused with dessert time, but it also applies to this post just the same because of my delicious FRAPPUCINO. ☕️💕

I googled whether or not the area of California I live in is considered somewhat of a desert and I learned: “The Central Valley has a hot Mediterranean climate in the north; the southerly parts of the region are dry and categorized as desert.” Well, I live in the CENTRAL Central Valley, so we get the best of both worlds: lush vegetation AND desert-like regions, depending on the time of year! 🌴🌺

Right now it’s very dry, and I love that. I’m drawn to the desert look, and I had the pleasure of walking around this beautiful new housing development called Tesoro Viejo on the outskirts of Fresno, equipped with a super cool coffee shop I’ve been to before and was excited to go back to with my friend!! This is my first time going to sit on a patio somewhere since the quarantine began, so I was quite happy. ☕️

I definitely frolicked around and I looked just like this happy puppy

This coffee shop, called Axis, is amazing with a beautiful patio area. I loved the see-through banners placed on the fence (my view from the table).

I definitely felt like I was in a desert, when I happened upon these little green bushes spaced out between each other on the ground. Something about the warm, dirt tones of a desert landscape ignites the imagination for me!

This fun skirt is actually my mom’s, handed down to me. I had it cut (it used to be ankle length) and hemmed. Yeah! 💜💕 I’m glad I wore this bright skirt, as it stood out against the scenery today.

See ya next time!
